It is essential that the system satisfies its basic needs, which has been a theme running throughout this book, but remember that these needs are captured according to a number of different contexts. These contexts include looking at the needs from different points of view, and one of these points of view must consider the management aspects.
For example, it is not good enough to deliver a system that satisfies the technical needs if it is delivered late, is over budget, or consumes too many resources. The best practice standard, ISO 15288, which we have been using as the main source for compliance throughout this book, has a process group that is dedicated to technical management processes, and this will form the basis for our discussion on management.
