Azure Service Fabric
This chapter is dedicated to describing Azure Service Fabric, which is a Microsoft opinionated microservices orchestrator. It is available on Azure, but Service Fabric software is also available for download, meaning users can use it to define their own on-premises microservices clusters.
While Service Fabric is not as diffused as Kubernetes, it has a better learning curve and enables you to experiment with the fundamental concepts of microservices, and to build sophisticated solutions in a very short space of time. Moreover, it offers an integrated deployment environment, which includes everything you need to implement a complete application. More specifically, it also offers its integrated communication protocol, and an easy and reliable way to store state information.
In this chapter, we will cover the following topics:
- Visual Studio support for Azure Service Fabric applications
- How to define and configure an Azure Service Fabric cluster...
