Facilitating SoS events
As the organization builds to a level requiring the implementation of an SoS organizational structure, the SoSM and CPOs form into leadership groups. These groups support the scaled versions of SM and PO cycles and their corresponding events.
The Scrum@Scale events correspond to the same types of events outlined in the Scrum Guide. For example, the SoSM facilitates a Scaled Daily Scrum (SDS) meeting, attended by at least one representative from each Scrum Team. As with the Daily Scrum, the SDS is a 15-minute timeboxed event where members discuss team and cross-team impediments and dependencies. Also, recall from the basics of Scrum that impediments and dependencies are directly tied to accomplishing the Sprint Goal.
In the Scrum of Scrum Retrospectives, the Scrum Masters within the SoS get together and discuss and create a plan for improvements for the upcoming Sprint. Different than the Scrum Guide, the Scrum@Scale Guide discusses the act of inspection...
