The Impact on Smart Cities and Environment

Technology has made our lives better. However, much technology that has been to our betterment has unfortunately been to the environment's detriment. Can we maintain our modern lifestyles whilst moving towards living more sustainably? This chapter focuses on applications of quantum computing and Blockchain for smart city and environment use cases, and how those applications might lead us to some answers.

We are the smartest species that ever walked the earth. Nature has endowed incredible physical and mental powers on human beings. With great power comes responsibilities too. As we start deploying technology and human resources to make our lives better, it must be done in a sustainable fashion. We need to be mindful of the fact that we share the world with our friends from the animal and plant kingdoms. More importantly, we must consider the kind of world that we want our future generations to inherit.
