Chapter 12. The Future of NAV

In the previous chapter, we discussed how other Microsoft and non-Microsoft solutions can be integrated to a Dynamics NAV system as an extension and can be used to solve some of the problems that are either hard to solve or are not possible to be solved with the standard NAV system. We also understood how Microsoft has built different, closely related systems keeping the connectivity in mind so that they can be used together to meet different kinds of real-life problems.

In this chapter, we will be discussing the technologies that will follow the Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016 release. Some of the technologies are already present in the market either in the form of a beta or alpha release, while some others are just announced to be released sooner to solve a particular type of mainstream problem. We will also be discussing the basics of some of the successors of the ERP system that should be watched closely.
