Fortunately, gone are the bad old days where developers would just display all the results of a database query, regardless of the number of lines. The problem with this approach is that website's visitors were forced to scroll endlessly to find what they were looking for among the results. In order to provide a better experience for your website visitors, you can apply pagination to your query results. The idea is simple: on any given web page, only display a preset number of lines. At the bottom of the page, the website visitors see a navigation control that allows them to move between pages of data.
To implement pagination, you need to set a parameter reflecting how many items you want to appear on a theoretical page. A common setting is 20 items per page. The objective is to scan through the query result set 20 results at a time, with options to go forward and backward.
