Cloud as the fabric for resilient architecture


A2Z Bullion Bank is headed in the right direction — this resilient cloud computing model helps to reduce the effort for capacity planning at an application level, as an application can just request resources from the cloud and get them in a matter of minutes based on dynamic demand. In a cloud-enabled portal environment, it is the data center manager's shared responsibility to predict resource requirements of all the portal-integrated applications and engines, and to order sufficient hardware ahead of time, independently of the input from application owners. The basis for capacity planning rests in monitoring existing usage patterns and keeping track over historical time periods so that long-term trends can be projected based on previous workload activity and self-adjusted without any knowledge of business plans.
