This chapter described you how to build a data access layer using EF Core and Dapper. It also showed you how to build unit tests using the in-memory database, and how to execute migrations with EF Core. I want to reiterate that the choice between EF Core and Dapper depends on different parameters: what kind of service we are building, the skills of our team members, and the type of infrastructure we're using.
The topics covered in this chapter provide the necessary knowledge to access data sources in .NET Core, using a code-first approach and also the stored-procedure approach. The chapter covered the use of technologies such as EF Core and Dapper. Additionally, it showed you how to test the data access layer using the in-memory approach.
In the next chapter, we will demonstrate how to implement handlers and the logic of our services.
