Understanding Your Workspace
Now that you have learned how to create a canvas, we are ready to look at how to navigate the Procreate workspace. Tap on a canvas thumbnail to load the canvas. Once the canvas is open, you will immediately notice that the interface looks much emptier than other painting software that you usually find. This is because a lot of tools are packaged away into the toolbars surrounding the drawing area, giving you a clean, uncluttered space to work in.
In this chapter, you will learn how to access the most common tools and features that you will be using while drawing. All the tools I discuss here will be explained at length individually in later chapters. If you’d like to explore the interface on your own, this chapter will offer you the groundwork to start from.
We’re going to cover the following broad topics here:
- Painting tools (top right)
- The sidebar (left)
- Advanced features (top left)
