Azure VPN Gateway

Azure VPN Gateway is a service that enables you to build private and secure pathways for encrypted communication by creating VPN tunnels or ER connections. It facilitates the transfer of data between an Azure VNet and other networks (such as on-premises locations and other cloud providers such as AWS and GCP) over the public internet. This gateway’s versatility extends beyond on-premises connections, allowing secure encrypted traffic exchange between different Azure VNets and Microsoft’s own network infrastructure too.

A VNet can host only one VPN gateway for managing secure connections. However, you have the flexibility to establish multiple connections to that single VPN gateway. When creating multiple connections, all the VPN tunnels will share the available gateway bandwidth.
