Conventions used
There are a number of text conventions used throughout this book.
Code in text: Indicates code words in text, database table names, folder names, filenames, file extensions, pathnames, dummy URLs, user input, and Twitter handles. Here is an example: “When you open Command Prompt and execute a command such as ping 8.8.8.8
, you will receive a response.”
A block of code is set as follows:
21.09.2023 11:10:47 0F90 PACKET 000001E02ABA9910 UDP Rcv 192.1.1.1 c101 Q [0001 D NOERROR] A (19) www.packtpub.com
Bold: Indicates a new term, an important word, or words that you see onscreen. For instance, words in menus or dialog boxes appear in bold. Here is an example: “Protecting these endpoints is precisely where endpoint detection and response (EDR) takes center stage.”
