Summary
In this chapter, you learned how to use Gatsby's data layer. You learned about the basics of how to explore your GraphQL data layer via GraphiQL and should now feel comfortable sourcing and ingesting data into your Gatsby project from a multitude of different sources – siteMetadata
, Markdown, MDX, and CMSes using their plugins. If you are interested in how source plugins are created and how to make your own, check out Chapter 10, Creating Gatsby Plugins.
In the next chapter, we will create and use reusable templates for pages that appear more than once, such as blog pages. This is great for when you have multiple pieces of data that you want to make use of while using the same layout.
