Merging columns with the Views table style plugin
In this recipe, we will be looking at using the table plugin's column combination feature to merge multiple columns together. In particular, we will be modifying the inbuilt content tracker view to treat nodes of type product differently.
Getting ready
We will be using the product node type created earlier in this chapter. We will also be using the ImageCache module to create a thumbnail which will fit inside a row of the tracker table. Create an ImageCache preset named tracker_thumb which performs a Scale and Crop operation to create a thumbnail of size 20px x 20px as in the following screenshot:
How to do it...
Navigate to the Views administration page at admin/build/views (Home | Administer | Site building | Views) and locate the view named tracker. If it is not already enabled, do so and subsequently click on its Edit link. Click on the Page display on the left and perform the following steps:
