Licensing after upgrading to Microsoft Dataverse
In Chapter 9, Upgrading to Microsoft Dataverse Environment, we saw the reasons to consider upgrading a Dataverse for Teams environment to Dataverse. These reasons or features were around greater capacity, better capabilities, and more control over security and administration. We also saw how the upgrade process can be initiated from the PPAC and briefly touched upon the after effects of upgrading. As seen in the following figure, after upgrading, the app that was working from Teams can now not be launched:
As seen in the error message, this app uses features that come with the Power Apps premium plan; that is, this app is now connected to an upgraded Dataverse instance, instead of Dataverse for Teams. As seen in Figure 11.1, connecting to Dataverse, or using a Dataverse connector, requires the end user to have a Power Apps license.
