Creating a sculpting base
In this section, we will see how to create a base mesh for our character.
In regards to characters, Modeler works in a similar way to LEGO; you have different pieces with different textures, and CSP turns those objects/textures on and off.
What does this mean for us? It means that we will need to create those parts of the character as different objects. So, we will be creating the following:
- Body
- Head
- Hair
- Clothes
- Details (if necessary)
Another thing I need to clarify is that you can create and import the characters in CSP and pose them even with just a PRO license, but remember that if you want to use Convert to lines and tones on the layer or the old Convert to lines feature, or if you want to extract the lines from a 3D model, you need the EX version.
Different methods
OK… make a cup of tea and take a deep breath because we will need to take a lot of steps. These are going to be simple steps, but there are a lot of them...
