Summary

In this chapter, we created a simple version of a T-72 tank to serve as a foundation for creating the rest of the model. We used edge measurements to set the proportions correctly so that we don’t have to worry about scale issues later. We also created cylinders as placeholders for the wheels to give us an idea of their size and placement. The object data is linked among the wheels to allow us to easily modify them all simultaneously later.

In the next chapter, we will separate the hull and finish it by adding more details and objects. This is the central part of the tank, which holds the turret and the tracks, so we will finish it before moving on to the other parts.
