Data Consumed – Observability Data Science
Data science is a multidisciplinary field of study that contains scientific methods, processes, algorithms, and tools. SREs make decisions based on the knowledge extracted (sometimes extrapolated) from noisy datasets. They are responsible for solving problems by exercising a scientific approach within the data science domain. They don’t rely on guesses or gut feelings; they make decisions based on the best data they can obtain. SREs should have a good understanding of mathematical models and statistical methods that they can apply to observability data.
We will explore and understand the most common statistical and mathematical models applied to the observability domain. At the end of the chapter, we will propose a few exercises to help consolidate this skill set in practical terms.
In this chapter, we will cover the following divisions:
- Making data-driven decisions
- Solving problems through a scientific approach...
