Using the Calculators
There are two calculators available in AutoCAD. The first is a key-in command that can be run outside or transparently inside another command. The second is the Quick Calculator (QuickCalc), which also can be run outside or inside of a command that provides a dialog calculator.
To run either calculator command inside another command, you must use the ’ character as a prefix to the CAL command.

Using the CAL Command
In this example, we will use the CAL command to calculate a simple mathematical value. This is a very simple example, but if you haven’t used this command before, it’s a good introduction:
