Summary
In this chapter, we have created a simple enough OpenGL framework to use it throughout the whole book. It is built on the open source FreeGLUT and FreeImage libraries, as well as the Microsoft Kinect SDK.
We have also successfully initialized the Kinect device in our own C++ application and obtained some continuous updating values for displaying on screen, which can be found in the downloadable source code package of this book. This means that Kinect is now ready for extensive usage based on color/depth camera images and skeleton tracking points. These will be covered in the next two chapters.
