Summary
In this chapter, we focused 100% on codeless tools that are offered by the open source community, as well as commercial tools. We looked at the capabilities of such tools and what to look for in such tools from a feature set perspective and provided a quick getting started guide for each of the tools. We dived deeper into the three main commercial codeless and AI-based tools and explored their core capabilities. While these tools mark a transformation milestone in the marketplace, they are still new and emerging, and there are still major gaps in using them. As opposed to open source codeless tools, commercial tools are licensable and paid products, and the expectations are high. From my evaluation of all the commercial tools, it was clear that they provide great value and can complement code-based testing tools with exploratory and mid-level complex test creations.
