A baseline is a standard that you compare a vSphere object against for compliance. Certain baselines are created by default, that is, predefined; alternatively, a custom baseline can also be created, tailored to the requirements. In this recipe, we shall walk through creating a custom recipe.
Creating a custom baseline
How to do it...
- Log in to vCenter and navigate to the Home page. Click on the Update Manager icon, as shown here:

- Click on the Manage tab. Click the Hosts Baselines tab, and then click on New Baseline....
- Provide a name for the baseline and click on Next ,as depicted in the following screenshot:

- Click on the Dynamic baseline radio button:
