After – Obtaining feedback
When you've finally made it through your entire presentation, you'll probably feel either exhilarated or exhausted! Either way, resist the urge to retreat to your office to celebrate and unwind. To get the most out of your presentation in terms of management experience, team-building, and professional development, soliciting feedback is an important wrap-up activity. Information-gathering at this stage allows you to identify areas of consensus, capitalize on momentum, and evaluate your performance as both a presenter and a new manager.
Discuss
Gather informal feedback about your presentation immediately after you finish speaking by casually asking which points had the most traction, which aspects of your delivery style were particularly effective, and what actions team members plan to take in response to your message. Jot down key findings or repeated observations and comments for future reference.
