Security is everyone’s responsibility
Traditionally, security has often been viewed as a separate department, a team responsible for firewalls, compliance checklists, and saying “no” to developers in the name of risk mitigation. This approach creates an adversarial dynamic, pitting security against innovation and ultimately hindering the organization’s very mission. The reality is that in a world where data breaches and cyber threats constantly evolve, security can’t be an afterthought or a bottleneck; it needs to be a fundamental part of how every system is designed, built, and operated.
The human element, as we’ve explored, is a double-edged sword in security. While individuals can be the weakest link, they can also be the most powerful line of defense.
