Chapter 5. Web 2.0 and Other Multimedia Forms
In this chapter, we will focus essentially on Web 2.0 tools for creating multimedia. Web 2.0 is a new way of working on the Web, where most of the users don't just access information but also create it—a usual metaphor is a change from a "read", more common during the early days of the Web, to a "read-write" Web. However, we will not look at blogs, wikis, or social networking sites that are usually referred to as Web 2.0 reference tools. Moodle already has these, so instead we will take a look at Web applications that allow the easy creation, collaboration, and sharing of multimedia elements, such as interactive floor planners, online maps, timelines, and many others applications that are very easy to use and that support different learning styles.
