Field security profiles

Field security profiles simplify the setting of permissions on secured fields by grouping secured field permissions into a profile that can be assigned to users and teams. This eliminates the need to set the permission on each secured field for each user.

Field security profiles control which users can access which secured fields. A field security profile contains the following:

• Field permissions: The permissions on all secured fields
• Service principals: Users and teams that belong to the field security profile

Field security profiles are components that can be added to solutions. You create a field security profile from within a solution in the maker portal.

For each secured field, you can set three permissions:

• Read: Allows the user to read or view the contents of the field
• Update: Allows the user to change or overwrite the contents of the field for an existing record
