Using Edit in grid view to bulk-edit list items
The grid view is a special view that resembles an Excel worksheet and allows you to work with multiple list items. In this recipe, we will see how to use Edit in grid view to modify multiple list items. We will use the previously created Marketing Announcements list as an illustration for this recipe.
Getting ready
You can use this view to bulk-edit items if you have Contribute access or higher to the list. You will usually have this access if you are part of the Site owners or Site member groups for that site.
How to do it...
- Browse to the list for which you would like to bulk-edit the items.
- Click Edit in grid view in the navigation bar.
If you are viewing a classic (and not a modern) list or if you are viewing a modern list in the classic view, you will see the Edit this list menu option instead of the Edit in grid view option. Both options eventually work the same way.
