Windows 11 requirements

Windows 11 is a brand-new Microsoft OS that was announced on 24th June 2021. Windows 11 will be generally available 5th October 2021. The good news is that Windows 11 is completely manageable from MEM, to a similar degree to the CSP/settings that you are familiar with for Windows 10.

However, there are some fundamental changes to the requirements of the hardware for Windows 11 compared to Windows 10 that I'd like to explain:

  • Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster with two or more cores on a compatible 64-bit processor (https://aka.ms/CPUlist) or system on a chip (SoC).
  • RAM: 4 gigabytes (GB) or greater.
  • Storage: 64 GB* or greater available storage is required to install Windows 11 (additional storage space might be required to download updates and enable specific features).
  • Graphics card: Compatible with DirectX 12 or later, with a WDDM 2.0 driver.
  • System firmware: UEFI, Secure Boot-capable.
  • TPM: Trusted Platform Module ...
