We started the chapter by looking into AD LDS and its capabilities. Then, we moved on to AD replication. In that section, we focused on the physical and logical components involved in AD replication and how they can be used to optimize complex replication requirements. More importantly, we also looked into how AD replication happens behind the scenes. Then, we moved on to RODCs and looked into their features and deployment scenarios. Later, we looked into AD database maintenance, which included different tools and techniques used to optimize AD database performance. Last but not least, we looked at the AD recovery options.
In the next chapter, we are going to look into another important AD role service: AD CS.
