Shaping the terrain


An initial tactic to sculpt and shape the terrain is to use the terrain brushes available with Lumion. Lumion is not an application like ZBrush, but it does well with the brushes provided to sculpt the terrain, and they are not difficult to master. This recipe is going to explain how we can use them and some practical applications in real projects.

Getting ready

To start, you may want to use a proxy of your building as a reference in the scene and focus your attention on the terrain. A proxy can be just a box with the house dimensions that will work as a visual aid to shape the terrain before importing the final 3D model.

How to do it…

To start sculpting the terrain in your project, perform the following steps:

  1. On the left-hand side of the screen, select the Landscape menu.
