Planning the data analysis and preparing data
Throughout this book, you built a File Geodatabase, and created and edited different spatial data. During this chapter, we will plan, prepare, and perform a spatial analysis. There are seven main steps in the analysis process:
- Define the problem or question.
- Identify the conditions.
- Identify the necessary data.
- Plan the analysis process.
- Prepare the data for analysis.
- Perform the analysis and examine the results.
- Present the results.
Planning data analysis
In this section, we will identify the problem that has to be solved, the criteria that has to be used in spatial analysis, the spatial and non-spatial datasets that we will need, and the main steps of the actual analysis.
