Summary

In this chapter, we have taken a look at the processes involved in importing and exporting integrations and packages and the reasons how you might want to perform such activities. With this, we have looked at the makeup of an .iar (integration archive) and .par (package archive). So, from here, you can see how to make local modifications and redeploy the changes. We moved onto the ICS API to understand how we can script or code, the means to control and manage our ICS instance. This led us onto the SDK and how to add custom adapters that can be used by ICS or even SOA CS. Finally, a number of potentially helpful resources have been identified that can help with thinking about how integrations may be implemented (for example, patterns), where you can go to look for more information on ICS and, if needed, the possibilities for reaching out for help (although we hope that this book will mean that is a great deal less necessary).
