To create a comprehensive ecosystem, Microsoft has provided extensions to enhance the functionality of the Field Service offering.
We can now integrate with IoT through Connected Field Service to receive real-time live data from monitored devices, in order to automatically generate work orders. This scenario has multiple applications, including facilities monitoring, or providing support to a fleet of machinery and devices deployed to multiple customers.
In addition, in order to enhance the ability of a field technician to provide a first-time fix, we can now leverage solutions such as Dynamics 365 Remote Assist to allow real-time interaction with back-office technicians who can assist in resolving an issue, or leverage the Dynamics 365 Guides solution to provide an overlay of documentation and instructions for resolving issues with specific devices being services.
