Creating and managing alerts in Azure cost analysis

The Azure cost analysis Budget feature provides the ability to create and manage cost alerts and anomaly alerts.

Note

Budgets are now evaluated against a more complete set of your costs and include reserved instance and purchase data. If you want to filter the new costs so that budgets are evaluated against first-party Azure consumption charges only, then add Publisher Type: Azure and Charge Type: Usage filter. When the budget thresholds are exceeded, only notifications are triggered. This does not impact your resources and does not stop consumption.

Budget alerts are a capability that you can use to monitor cloud spend and take appropriate actions if there is a deviation in spend. It is important to remember that cost and usage data is generally available between 8–24 hours and budgets are evaluated against these costs every 24 hours. When...
