Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) provides us with a way of thinking about objects, thus expressing the real world in terms of classes and their relationships. Functional programming is a completely different programming paradigm as it allows us to concentrate on the functional structure rather than the physical structure of code. Learning and using functional programming are useful in two ways. First, it is a new paradigm that forces you to think very differently. Solving problems requires having flexible thinking.
