Things you will need
The following list shows the things that you will need to build the robot. In Chapter 1, Getting Ready and Chapter 2, Building a Mini Round Robot with Original ESP8266, you assembled the Mini 3-Layer Round Robot Chassis Kit with the Arduino UNO, a motor driver, ESP8266 ESP01, wheel encoders, and a bi-directional logic level converter.
You can use the same chassis kit by removing all the things assembled on the top chassis layer (the Arduino UNO, motor driver, ESP8266 ESP01, and the bi-directional logic level converter) and the 9V battery holder attached to the bottom chassis layer.
If you want to build a robot with another Mini 3-Layer Round Robot Chassis Kit, first assemble it on the top chassis layer without attaching a 9V battery holder onto the bottom chassis layer:
