Creating a pagination template to create individual 11ty pages
While it may seem counterintuitive to use something named Pagination to create individual pieces of content, that’s where the power of 11ty’s Pagination API comes into play. We can use it in this way, as well as creating standard pagination. Instead of having a set number of items per page, we can specify one item at a time, thus creating individual pages for our data.
We begin as we did with pagination in Chapter 4, but instead of having 5 or 10 items per page, we set that to 1. Then we can also create specific URLs for the pages by using the permalink functionality set to the slug of each item. We also need a title for the templates we’ve already created as well as audioURL
to function properly. Instead of rewriting our templates, we can set this information with the eleventyComputed
object to create the variables using the data that we receive.
