Approvals inside ASC

Approval processes can be applied to multiple places. In the GUI, the following areas inside ASC allow for approvals to be set:

• Use of an inventory: Platform, Platform name, Inventories, Inventory name, Set approval, To set approval for an Automation controller inventory
• All orders in a portfolio: Portfolio, Portfolio name, Set approval
• Use of a product: Products, Product name, Set approval

An approval process can be set at each of these levels. If a group is designated in multiple approval processes, the group will only be prompted for approval once. These are processed as individual requests but can be seen on the Approval | All requests page:

For illustration purposes, I’ve created groups and processes that match the area that requires approval. Each group will need to approve this order before it is sent to the Automation controller. Approvals do not need to be set...
