Summary
We covered a lot of information and techniques on various ways to make selections in Photopea. We learned how to identify and use a number of selection tools, namely the Lasso, Polygonal Lasso, Rectangle and Elliptical Select, and Magic Wand selection tools. We also learned how we can avoid merging objects together by mistake when making selections.
We saw how to edit our selections to make better selections using the Modify feature to adjust the selection, as well as the feathering feature. In addition to that, we explored the Replace, Unite, Subtract, and Intersect selection modes.
We learned how to soften the edges to give them a natural seamless finish, how to remove backgrounds, make complex selections of objects such as hair, and paint in strands of hair. Finally, we touched on the Pen tool and gained an understanding of how to work with channels.
That concludes this chapter. We are ready to move on to Chapter 6, Color Theory and Application.
