A quick guide to Administration Manager
Administration Manager is a tool available only to Spotfire administrators to control how each Spotfire user uses the system and its components. It is accessed through the Tools menu. The number of Spotfire administrators in an organization is normally very small. This section is included to give you some sense of how Spotfire is administered at an enterprise level.
Spotfire, like many other computer systems, allows you to organize users into groups and those groups into hierarchies of groups. Groups are used to organize users into categories of a common purpose, which could be to do with functionality or with access to particular data.
Spotfire uses the concept of a license to define functional granularity within the system. The term can be confusing. It is related at a high level to the product licenses purchased for a given Spotfire implementation, such as Spotfire Consumer and Spotfire Analyst licenses.
