Learning about the Viewport tools


Up to this point, we made extensive use of the Universal tool to manipulate objects in the scene. There are other tools that can be used to manipulate scene objects and now it's time to see what they do. We saw these tools in Chapter 2, Customizing Studio; here they are again for reference:

The Node selection tool

This is used to select objects or portions of objects, called nodes. For example, the forearm of a human figure is a node.

The Rotate tool

This is used to rotate objects.

The Translate tool

This is used top move objects around.

The Scale tool

This is used to enlarge or shrink objects.

The Node selection tool

In the toolbar where the U.T. is, we can find the Node selection tool. This tool is useful when we need to select an object or a part of a figure, like the eye, but we don't want to see the U.T. gizmo in the view.
