Thinking outside the text box
In the final section of this chapter, we will be applying some of the different techniques we covered as we consider how text shapes may be used outside of the traditional methods. For example, let’s say you have a unique shape with asymmetric curves and edges as shown in Figure 5.14:

How could we get our text to wrap along the face of this part? We could use individual characters and space them out along the surface, which would work. But that method is certainly tedious. And if we wanted our text to wrap or fit along a shape even more complicated than the one shown in Figure 5.14, then this might not be feasible.
Instead, we can use the concepts of CSG to create custom profiles using our text shapes, which can wrap around any surface. To do so, follow these steps:
