Summary

Protecting data is the most important thing in database environments. When all security elements fail (for instance, installation errors, authentication, authorization, bad access policy, and so on), there is no more protection. This chapter looked at how to implement advanced techniques for protecting data, such as cryptography and advanced built-in SQL Server on Linux security features.

In the next chapter, we will introduce the basic elements of SQL Server indexing.
