SAP CRM order integration with global ATP
Orders created in SAP CRM undergo an ATP check that is based on the configuration in SAP CRM. The configuration within SAP CRM determines which system is the leading system to run the ATP check. This could be the SAP APO or SAP ERP system. Figure 8.3 shows a diagrammatic representation of an availability check being carried out via the SAP ERP and SAP APO systems:

Availability check using APO
A manufacturer or supplier using the SAP APO system would mostly leverage the ATP check functionality on a sales order using Global Available to Promise (GATP). SAP CRM is connected to SAP SCM and BAPI calls are triggered to carry out ATP, shipment scheduling, and transportation scheduling on the sales order line items created from the SAP CRM system.
