Deploying VM Extensions
VM extensions are applications that you can install as part of the script or post-deployment. For example, you could add antimalware applications to a VM. VM extensions can be configured for existing and future deployments.
Exercise 13.9: Deploying a VM Extension Using the Portal
In this exercise, you are going to configure the Microsoft Antimalware extension for an existing Windows VM:
- Navigate to the Azure portal by opening a web browser and going to https://portal.azure.com.
- Navigate to one of your scale-set VMs.
- Under the
Settings
tab for the VM, selectExtensions + applications
and click onAdd
on the next page. - Now, scroll down and select the
Microsoft Antimalware
extension, click on the card, then clickNext
.
