Describing the sample information system requirements
Before any kind of analysis, we will imagine what the system owner would want from it. Of course, as we explained, time is a very important constraint in information systems design, which has a long life, and we will simulate the fact that we do not know everything about the requirements at first. In particular, the last chapters of the book will simulate the fact that new requirements arise for the imaginary company owning the information system, and explain how the system will adapt to it. This point is particularly important because the main goal of this book is to show how a system should be created or adapted so that its evolution is simpler in time.
To make the exercise as realistic as possible, while keeping it simple for it to be contained in a single book, we will imagine the company, the users of the information system, their business, the data they manipulate, and so on. This is what we are going to do in this first...
