Summary
In this chapter, we learned that, like everything else, measuring the outcome of a platform is crucial to determine its performance. To know whether the platform is successful, we must know how the platform is performing for each of its characteristics: being multi-dimensional, creating network effects, and enabling easy plug-and-play. To measure these characteristics, we should track how easily the platform is accumulating its users, how good it is in connecting its producers and consumers, and how well it enables interaction between them. Tracking the goals concerning accumulation, connection, and interaction will help measure the platform's holistic performance.
