Including images in tables
In more recent years, Adobe has made it easier to include graphics within tables. This can be useful in several scenarios, such as if you use small icons and symbols to identify content in your tables. InDesign does this by effectively converting the cell into a graphic cell and inserting a graphic into it, which results in additional settings specific to the graphic being made available for that cell.
In this recipe, we will look at including images in our table cells, and how we can customize how these images to fit within the graphic cell.
Getting started
To complete this recipe, simply open InDesign on your system and create a new document with 12 pages, as shown in the Creating a new document recipe in Chapter 1. You will also need to create a new frame containing a table, as shown in the Inserting and creating tables recipe. An active internet connection is needed to complete step 3 of this recipe.
