Summary

This chapter covered a lot of OSPF configurations, from the basic single area to multi-area OSPF. We covered terminology, the features of OSPF, and different ways we can advertise the networks.

Make sure you know how to configure a single-area OSPF and how to find out if it's working using the show commands we used in the chapter. Don't forget about the election of DR and BDR. That only happens in Ethernet networks.

One last thing: memorize all the LSAs given in the table; you may come across them.

In our next chapter, we will learn about Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) eBGP.
