Time for action – configuration of BBCacti

  1. Click on the BBCacti icon to start the application:

  2. You'll be asked to enter an Activation Code. Enter the trial key which you received:

  3. You'll see a confirmation box once the Activation Code has been accepted:

  4. The application will close once the OK button has been clicked. Restart it to continue the configuration process.

  5. The application will ask for the details of your Cacti installation. Enter the information you wrote down earlier and click on the Save button:

  6. Again the application will close to store the information to the device. If you change the data later, or add a new Cacti server, the BBCacti client won't close again.

  7. At the next start, the application will ask for a Cacti username and password. You can use any Cacti user to whom you've granted the permissions to use the mobile client interface:

  8. Once logged in, you'll be presented with a screen allowing you to browse the Cacti tree, view threshold breaches, or look at a list of currently down hosts:

What just happened?

You just activated your trial license and configured the BBCacti application to go to your Cacti installation using the nmidWebService plugin, and the configured WebService password. You also used an existing Cacti user to logon to your system.
