Creating a skirt

In this section, we are using simple shapes to create an outline of the side armor and the track covers. In the next few steps, we will once again add shapes and modify them with basic tools and techniques to create this part of the tank:

  1. Add a new plane to the hull in Edit Mode and separate it by Selection. The plane will have the same origin and modifiers as the hull because it was created as part of the same object.

Figure 7.16 is a reference for correctly placing the plane from the top view and side view:

  1. Extrude the edge at the front of the plane and lower it to the same height as the hull point.

  1. Press Ctrl + B to turn the sharp edge into a round one with a bevel.
